This signet ring is cast in lead-free pewter. The ring size when cast is 5.75, 8 or 10. The sealing image is a Ichthyosaur fossil.
The first full Ichthyosaur fossil was discovered by the godmother of paleontology, Mary Anning, when she was 12 years old. Her numerous contributions to the discipline were not recognized until long after.
This is part of a series of signet rings I am making cast from lead-free pewter. Each ring master is hand sculpted to give a unique, rustic style, relief image when used as a seal, with sealing wax.
