This signet ring is cast in lead-free pewter. The ring size when cast is 5.75. The sealing image is a carnivorous pitcher plant.
Pitcher plants are a group of carnivorous plants. They can grow large enough to eat small birds and rodents. These plants contain a sweet smelling digestive liquid at the bottom of an inverted bell shaped "pitcher" with tooth like hairs along the inside to keep its prey inside. It also generates one of the most slippery substances, so that critters walking on the plant will fall in.
This is part of a series of signet rings I am making cast from lead-free pewter. Each ring master is hand sculpted to give a unique, rustic style, relief image when used as a seal, with sealing wax.
