This signet ring is cast in lead-free pewter. The ring size when cast is 6.25, 8 or 10. The sealing image is a tortoise.
This is part of a series of signet rings I am making cast from lead-free pewter. Each ring master is hand sculpted to give a unique, rustic style, relief image when used as a seal, with sealing wax.
Turtles symbolise wisdom, they are sacred and powerful creatures of great beauty and majesty. I used to have two pet turtles, I had received them from a friend who moved away and could not take them with. After keeping them in a terrarium for too long, I built a pond with a waterfall and lots of fish and released them into it, so they could be free and comfortable.
